Rating:  - So....when does the movie come out??!!
Ok, ok, so there's no movie in the works that I know of, but a girl can dream, right?! And...who would play Joe Morelli...that's what I want to know!The second in the Stephanie Plum series, it's a hit (no pun intended, really!)! READ THIS BOOK! Her trials and tribulations as a bounty hunter are hilarious! I'll keep reading until she hooks up with Morelli, but well, I won't tell what does or does not happen in this book! Her gun-toting Grandma Mazur and the obsession with funeral homes is hilarious! Her mentor, Ranger, and her everyday life as a pseudo bounty hunter makes for a fun, quick read. I definitely recommend this series!

I would have been carted away. The divine tough-talking, impossibly inept bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, along with her entire cast of totally loony characters. Speaking of whom...let me just get a word of appreciation in for the long-suffering man of few words, Mr. Plum, Stephanie's father. His eloquent sighs, one-word epithets, and vain attempts to hide in front of a blasting TV are priceless. The plot is much the same as the first book: Stephanie seeks bad guy, aided by the sexy Morelli. Not as much of Ranger in this book, but Morelli makes up for it. A great deal of the action transpires in a slimy (the only word I could think of) funeral parlor run by an equally slimy rat-like creature named Spiro. He has managed to misplace two dozen caskets...along with various body parts of those in his...um....eternal care. You MUST read this book!!!! Hilarious, outrageous, fast-paced, delightful--what more do you want? Well, if you were Stephanie, you could go for a greasy cheeseburger and fries just about now...

Our lady Bounty Hunter is on the go again and Grandma comes along as her sidekick. Stephanie is looking for missing coffins and falls upon some bad times and bad guys, while Granny gives us a speech right out of Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry that left me simply hysterical. There is nothing to top the character of Stephanie Plum in this genre and Evanovich is simply brilliant in her presentation of a female character that will entertain you from beginning to end. Add in her crazy Italian family from Trenton, New Jersey and you are hooked. I never want these books to end. Though I do admit to reading number three out of order it would be best to read them in order for the continuity of the story. What can I say, I had book number three titled THREE TO GET DEADLY and just couldn't wait. Kelsana 2/26/02
